01Day 1 — Arrival in Shillong – Gateway to Meghalaya
Arrival: Pick up from Guwahati Airport/Railway Station. Drive to Shillong (approx. 3–4 hours). En route, stop at Umiam Lake for scenic photos. Local sightseeing: Visit Shillong Peak for panoramic views, Elephant Falls, and Ward’s Lake. Evening: Explore Police Bazaar for local food and shopping. Overnight Stay: Hotel in Shillong.
02Day 2 — Shillong to Cherrapunjee – Land of Waterfalls
Morning: Drive to Cherrapunjee (54 km, approx. 2 hours). Attractions: Nohkalikai Falls (India’s tallest plunge waterfall), Seven Sisters Falls, Dainthlen Falls. Cave visit: Explore Mawsmai Cave or Arwah Cave—great for photography and short treks. Optional: Eco Park visit and enjoy local Khasi cuisine. Overnight Stay: Hotel/Homestay in Cherrapunjee.
03Day 3 — Trek to Double Decker Living Root Bridge
Full-day adventure: Early morning drive to Tyrna village. Begin guided trek (approx. 3000 steps) to Nongriat village. Main Highlight: See the iconic Double Decker Root Bridge, natural pools, and the nearby Rainbow Falls (optional). Evening return: Trek back to Tyrna and return to Cherrapunjee. Overnight Stay: Cherrapunjee.
04Day 4 — Cherrapunjee – Dawki – Mawlynnong – Shillong
Morning drive: Head towards Dawki (approx. 2.5–3 hrs). Experience: Boating in the crystal-clear Umngot River. Next stop: Mawlynnong – Asia’s cleanest village. Visit Sky Viewpoint and walk around the bamboo bridges. Return: Drive back to Shillong by evening. Overnight Stay: Shillong.
05Day 5 — Shillong to Guwahati – Departure
Morning: Check out from hotel. Optional (time-permitting): Visit Don Bosco Museum or Laitlum Canyon en route to Guwahati. Drop: Transfer to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.
